The proverbial "monkey and the football" was me trying to figure out this awning for the first time with no real instructions. Soooo... once I figured it out and got reasonably adept I figured I'd make a video to show how it's done. This stuff comes in handy when I haven't done it for 6 months or so and need a refresher and I hope it helps others too.
This is A & E Systems by Dometic Model #839BQ19B. These awnings are fairly common and I believe are still available today.
Note that in the video I don't put the legs down on the ground. This is designed to have the legs easily detach from the side of the coach and then secured to the ground with stakes. I find it easier to leave the legs attached since we normally don't stay anywhere for too long. The disadvantage to my method is you have to duck under and risk hitting your head. If we decide to stay somewhere longer I will pull the legs out and put the feet on the ground to open the pathway underneath.
