This past weekend we were at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI and had a rough time trying to watch the Michigan State game. We had an iPhone 4s and iPad 2 on AT&T and an iPhone 4 on Verizon that we planned to hook to our HD TV so figured we'd be covered for streaming the Big Ten Network. All three devices showed 3 to 4 bars of signal strength yet we had no luck getting the game to stream for more than a minute or two at a time. The campground at the track has wifi but at the far end it was too weak to get any streaming going. The 30 pin to HDMI adapter that we got from Amazon also did not work.
Bottom line- we need more and better technology! Will be looking into range extenders, hot spots, etc...
