  • Young State Park, Boyne City, Michigan on Lake Charlevoix

    Introduction:
Young State Park in Boyne City Michigan is a beautiful wooded park with campground areas on or near Lake Charlevoix. We got lucky with our short notice reservation and scored spot 24 which is nestled in the trees just a few steps away from the lake. When we pulled up I wondered if our 38 footer was gonna fit between the trees.

The lakeshore here is a bit rocky but a short walk away is the beautiful sandy swimming beach.

Hookups: Electric 20A & 30A. Water spigots around the park are not threaded for hose hookup.

Dump Station: Dump station is small, only really room for 1 at a time.

Wi-Fi: No, but good AT&T and Verizon

    Pool: No

    Waterfront: Lake Charlevoix

Boat Launch & Docking: Yes, small setup

    Bathrooms/Showers:
Bathrooms are nice and modern but sink faucets are the annoying type with the push down handles that either time out immediately or keep running for 2 minutes after you’re done and the water sprays out so hard that it splashes the front of you.

Activities: Lots of nature trails for hiking and biking, boating (bring your own), playgrounds, beach volleyball, huge beautiful sandy beach.

    Attractions Nearby:
Boating, Boyne City- (small town atmosphere on the water, very nice). It’s about a 3.3 mile bike ride into town. Mostly flat but not the best bike lane for a good portion of the way. The town sits right on the lake and has some good restaurants, an ice cream joint, grocery store, hardware store, bike shop and lots of other unique stores to check out.

Summary: Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back and tow a vehicle next time so we can do more extensive exploring.

I want to know about your experience at this Park. After reading your experience, I will go there as soon as possible. Can you share with me? Waiting for your worthwhile reply.
