  • Fixing Damage to Basement Doors

My Champion had been rubbed against something at some point prior to my ownership. Water was getting in to 2 of the basement doors so I put some duck tape on as a temporary measure to prevent further water damage. Now that it has sat all winter indoors I'm hoping the insides of the doors are dry.

I started by cleaning with M.E.K. to remove the tape gunk and any oils. Next I sanded with a coarse sanding sponge to rough up the area, then wiped clean. Next I applied some Glazing & Spot putty to seal up the damage & keep water out until I can finish the repair. I'm hoping that in the near future I can put some Bondo on top of the putty, sand and paint. Need to get matching paint, could be challenging.
