I can’t remember how I did it when we had ours reupholstered. Been a long time but I think if you pull drawer out and the fold sofa up a bit you can reach in between and find latch or latches that release it.1992 Champion EuroPremier 38'-sold, 1984 Ford Bronco, 2010 Australian Shepherd - "Coby", 2012 Pomeranian- "Bella"

Okay I finally pull the Jackknife couch. Now that I know how I did it this would be the procedure for anyone that needs to remove their older Jackknife couch and storage bin.
1. Jackknife the couch so that its in the V configuration
2. Pull the storage drawer out all the way
3. Remove the floor screws from the right side of the couch on the drivers side
4. Remove the bolts from the Jackknife seat - on the left side or the Kitchen wall side
5. Being careful - You are going to be removing the Jackknife couch from the sides;
but you need the right side to release from the bolts
6. Remove the bolts from the Jackknife seat - on the right side and hold the V couch and slowly remove the right side
7. you should be able to pull the left side off and place on the storage drawer
8. Lift the V Jackknife couch out ot the way and now remove the left side screws - now remove the left side
9. With the storage drawer out their are 2 screws in the very back to the rails - they are using square bit heads here - using an impact drill it should remove easily
10. Close the Storage drawer and lift the front of the storage drawer up,
11. There are 2 square screws at the front of the rail and you should now be able to remove the storage drawer with the rails
12. I was doing this to cut the carpet and cleanup the area for new Luxury Vinyl Flooring.

Okay Houston we have a problem; while ripping out the flooring I noticed that where the lazyboy chair was there were 5 of 6 bolts sticking thru the structurewood, so i got a hole drill and drilled around the bolt, sure enough their is a steel plate underneath, how large is it, ...well less than 11 x 13 but that works for me!
Now the structurewood was 19/32 thick it appears that the steel plate is 1/4 inch so i hated fractions in high school so it looks like im sanding down the replacement board to match the structurewood after i grind off the bolts and clean up the steel plate.
Then i still have carpet to remove between the counter and the drivers chair except all my electrical cables are going through there.

Nice set of pics. You are really fixing that baby up! I love the look of these Europremiers!
That interior looks like a huge project. Could you build a cover to go over the cables, like out of 1"x4" and then put the flooring on it to match? Would that get in the way of putting sofa back in?1992 Champion EuroPremier 38'-sold, 1984 Ford Bronco, 2010 Australian Shepherd - "Coby", 2012 Pomeranian- "Bella"

The pictures are from the jack knife removal and carpet removal -
I've seen some examples of others building a box on youtube to hide or conceal cables or unwanted items. but i still have to remove the carpet - and fill the holesLast edited by matt.ahern; 01-17-2018, 03:33 PM.
