  • Sanding the Beast Down to her skin

I just upgraded my palm sander's pad, that allows the sandpaper to stick to the sander. I purchased 150 pads, from 60, 80, 120, 150, 220 and started on the passenger side of the beast. its coming along.

As far as the old baked on graphics I just purchased graphxoff and I will try to apply on the graphics to remove - i should know this week.

Camping world has huge clearances on awning accessories and other items so while the awning is out, i got cleaner on the way and minor upgrades.

Wow!! Great pics! I'm super excited that you are going all in to bring her back to glory! Looks like you've got a nice place to work on it. My shoulders got sore just thinking about all that sanding.

this last weekend about 8hrs of sanding so far, next is the vinyl removal bath, and then some more sanding. also i will have to hand sand those hard to reach spots. I believe I'm going to purchase "shine on" and re-add the gel coat my self https://shop.shineononline.com/main.sc

A serious labor of love. Have you used that product before? You are really motivating me to continue work on ours, it has some places that desperately need to be sanded and repainted. In this pic you can see the damaged silver striping.

look at the shine on product and watch videos. they have a removal product to. maybe all you need to do is just replace the gel coat - and it will fix the colors.

also the rear window corner of the bedroom wall looks like its bowed out. - I was just watching a video on seal products -

I believe ours is a lacquer paint. Looks like I'll need to mask off the striping, sand and repaint.

Both of the back rear window corners are bowed, have been like that since we bought it. Seems the fiberglass is permanently bowed, don't think it's fixable.
