  • AGM Batteries - Here to stay or Li-Po taking over?

Recently I needed a new battery for my car and found that many AGM(Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries made popular by Optima are now available to fit most cars and are more affordable than the Optima brand. After some research I decided to go with the Autocraft brand from Advance Auto Parts. Looks like a good quality product on the outside and has a 3 year warranty. It fits perfectly in the car just as advertised.

This got me thinking about the motorhome batteries of which our Champion Europremier has 4. I've heard rumor that some of the new coaches may be coming with Lithium Polymers but not sure when they'll be available as aftermarket or how affordable they'll be.

Anyone have any insight for motorhome use? Pluses or minuses? (no pun)
