  • Dash Instrument Lights Quit Working

Adjusted the brightness and they all went dark. 😕

Tested for power and it seems to be the rotary dimmer switch has failed. Should be a fun part to locate.

Aaaaand of course last night I'm cruising down the highway into dusk, turn on headlights and 💥 the dash lights magically work.

I have a 1992 38' Europremier and my dash dimmer did the same. I spent a week trying to locate another or something that might work with no luck. I ended up cleaning the rotary portion that makes contacts and it works great now.

That's good to know, I'll have to try that. Was it difficult to take apart to clean? Thanks!

It's very easy. Just remove the dimmer from the panel. On the backside you will see the contact that rotates, there is no need to actually take anything apart, you just clean with a very fine small wire brush about the size of a tooth brush. Reinstall and you should be fine.

Ok thanks. I'll snap a pic to post here when I finally get around to removing it.
